Welcome to the site of Noah's Ark
We'd like to tell you about the work that we can and may do for the children in Uganda.
Beautiful and sad stories are part of the life and work with these children in Uganda.
If you read our stories, you will understand that our work never ends: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is our goal that our children become someone in stead of no-one.
We may experience great joy in this work. Of course there are sad moments as well; for example when a weak and damaged child has been brought in, or when a child dies, despite intensive care.
Yet, the common thread in our site is the joy, the confidence and hope for a better future for our children. We are glad that you help us to offer this future to these children, because it really works. Uganda has over 3.4 million orphans and especially the children are victims of AIDS, malaria and other diseases, extreme droughts and rains, and the turbulent history by which 60% of the population is now younger than 16 years. Education and medical care are poor and often not available. The explosive populationgrowth, the poor infrastructure and the lack of export indicate a hopeless vision for the future.
Yet we have hope: God, whom we serve in our ministry, gives us many possibilities. Currently we have over 100 children in our wonderful children's home, that is specially built for the little ones. We have enough room for hundreds of children. There is also a kindergarten and an elementary school for the children of the children's home and the poorest children from the villages around us. There is a medical center, a church, a farmhouse, a holiday village and a program for streetchildren. All these projects make the work comprehensive.
Piet and Pita Buitendijk, who started to be missionaries in Uganda since 1996, started this project in 2000 and have seen it become what it is today. Many people are involved in this project and can testify that faith is practised here. A growing number of missionaries is, besides a large number of Ugandan staff, part of the team NACMU Uganda We would like to help more children and therefore invite you to read more of our site to see what your contribution can be.
Highly recommended, Team NACMU-Uganda |
